Palmer nets excellent opener Embarrassed Branthwaite in build upWent on to complete 29-minute hat trickWHAT HAPPENED?
The Blues' main man delivered again on Monday night, giving his side the lead inside 13 minutes. Picking up the ball in space, he cleverly flicked it past Jarrad Branthwaite before playing a cheeky, backheeled one-two with Nicolas Jackson. Palmer then produced a superb, first-time finish into the far corner.

Not long after, Palmer made the net bulge once again. His second goal – a headed rebound after Jackson's shot was saved – wasn't as eye-catching, but it did bring up 21 strikes for the season. Palmer is the first Chelsea player to reach that milestone since Eden Hazard all the way back in the 2018-19 season. Things soon got even better too. In the 29th minute Jordan Pickford gave the ball away cheaply, allowing Palmer to lob his England team-mate from range and complete a scintillating, perfect hat trick.
