The 29-year-old midfielder has registered 16 goals for the Red Dragons this season, helping them to a top-three finish in League Two and back-to-back promotions. Lee has figured in all 44 of Wrexham’s fourth-tier fixtures, making him the only member of Phil Parkinson’s squad that is capable of being an ever-present with two games left to take in.

Lee is eager to hit that personal milestone, after missing only one game in a record-breaking National League title win last season, and has said: “It is something I am really proud of. It is tough, it is not easy playing every game. The body gets tired, the travelling and the mental fatigue as well but I would never complain about playing every game. I have been out of squads in the past and not played football. I love playing football for Wrexham and it is a pleasure to play every week. I am buzzing that I have played every game so far and I am looking forward to finishing it off in the next two.”

Lee’s exploits have earned him a place in the League Two Team of the Season, while he is also in contention for the Player of the Year prize. He added on that recognition: “It is a great feeling to be nominated and be one of three people in the league. It's a very proud moment for me. But if I'd have won all the individual awards I could have done and we didn't get promoted, then I have not really done my job. I couldn't celebrate all that with the team if I won personal awards but we didn't achieve what we set out to achieve as a team. That was always my main focus, achieving promotion with a great group of lads and staff, and have days and nights to remember for the rest of my life which I wouldn't have done if I'd only won individual awards. The individual awards have never been something I focus on, it has always been getting this club promoted and enjoying these moments.”

Wrexham are already planning for life in League One, with the club’s Hollywood co-owners expected to make the funds available that will allow Parkinson to dip back into the transfer market and reinforce what is already a fiercely-competitive squad.
