Everton's star defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. They have already rejected two bids from the Red Devils but since their failed takeover last week, United could renew their interest in the English central defender. However, the Merseyside club has reportedly informed the Manchester-based club that they are not interested in parting ways with their star.

Republic of Ireland international O'Brien had earlier signed for Premier League side Crystal Palace in 2021 but he did not appear in a single game for the club and instead moved out on two different loan spells to Swindon Town and RWD Molenbeek before securing a permanent move to Lyon last summer.
