Leeds United have edged in front in the Championship title race following yet another victory this weekend.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side defeated local rivals Huddersfield Town 2-0 in the west Yorkshire derby to make it five successive wins in the league.
In the same run, the Whites are yet to concede a goal either which has led to fans talking up one of their defenders, Gaetano Berardi, as LUFCData posted his numbers for the season to social media.
The 31-year-old has been limited to just 17 appearances, but he’s managed to help shut the opponent out in 64.7% of those matches.
Solid.
Here’s what fans have been saying about the Swiss-born defender…
There were plenty of superlatives used to describe Berardi’s season up to this point, including “absolute class” and “matured” while one supporter claimed he was the “unsung hero” of the team.
He was even labelled a “warrior” and a “beast” by others.

The long-serving defender is due to be out of contract this summer and the above reminder of his form has prompted some fans into demanding an extension.
Some of the reasoning included him being a “good squad player” and the fact that the statistics didn’t lie.
The glowing praise extended to the point of him being put up as a contender for the Player of the Season award – some claim considering the displays from fan favourites, Ben White and Kalvin Phillips, as well as from the likes of Jack Harrison and Stuart Dallas.
One supporter even compared him to Andy Hughes who was versatile and very useful in playing central midfield and full-back at Elland Road during a three-season spell ending in 2010.
Are you a Championship expert? How much did each of these big-money signings cost?
